Frequently asked questions:

Can you tell me more about the program and curriculum?

Apogee Longview is a full-time alternative solution to public or private education for ages 5-18. We aim to develop young leaders and their families, equipping them to do life well. We use an innovative approach to whole person formation with a strong emphasis on character development. Apogee combines elements of Socratic learning, hands-on experiential projects, and interactive technology, creating a dynamic and flexible learning environment.

At Apogee, we have mixed-aged classrooms called studios with a self-paced learning design as opposed to grade-levels. Our projects seek to instill real-world skills and culminate in a public exhibition of learning as opposed to test scores and report cards. In all areas of Apogee life, our learners are empowered to be in the driver's seat of their education.

Our program is structured around 7 project-based sessions from September to June. Each session lasts 4-6 weeks with a 1 week break between each session. This allows time for our young leaders to reset, integrate, and return excited and refreshed for the next session. This also provides quality family time throughout the year.

Is apogee longview a school?

We are neither a private nor public school. We are a full-time learning center and educational enrichment program. Parents are the primary educators and utilize our program, staff, and facility to further equip, train, and prepare their young learners to excel at life in the 21st century.

We are a family leadership academy that offers every parent the opportunity to join Apogee Man or Apogee Woman, a 12-month intensive self-development program aimed at upleveling in every area of their lives - marriage, family, relationships, finances, faith, and fitness.

We will be offering after hours enrichment programs for the Longview community, which will be posted to our calendar.

what is the apogee code

The Apogee Code is a code of ethics that all members of our community commit to live by:

INTEGRITY

"Integrity is the choice between what's convenient and what's right." - Tony Dungy

I will be steadfast in doing what is right when others are looking and when I am alone and nobody sees.

BRAVERY

"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave for five minutes longer." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I will show mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty. I will stand up for what is right, and will not compromise, no matter who the enemy, and, especially when the enemy is myself.

COMPASSION

"If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” -Dalai Lama

I will demonstrate generosity, sympathy, and forgiveness towards others. Compassion serves others, even to the discomfort of self. A chance to help others is an opportunity to change the very direction of humanity.

POLITENESS

"A polite gentleman is indeed one who puts more into this world than he takes out". -George Bernard Shaw

I consistently treat everyone with good manners, show them courtesy, and put in more than I take out. Respect is gained by the consistent manner with which I deal with people, so I will deal with them accordingly.

HONESTY

"Befriend the man who is brutally honest, for honesty is the highest form of respect”. -Daniel Saint

My word is my bond, and my bond cannot be broken. In an age where contracts and handshakes are marginalized, I am committed to my word at all costs.

HONOR

"The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be who we pretend to be." -Socrates

II work hard and always try my best. I consistently make choices that show I am worthy of respect. My transparency in leadership and principled living will be evident in public and in private.

LOYALTY

"Nothing is more noble, nothing more venerable, than loyalty." -Cicero

I am loyal to myself, my cause, my family, my friends, and to the betterment of society. I take personal responsibility for my decisions and actions, as well as their results.

3pm-3:30pm - Pickup

Do you have a program calendar for the year?

Yes. Here is a projected calendar for the year.

We will begin during the first week of September and finish during the last week of June. We have 7 sessions throughout the year, lasting 4-6 weeks each. Between each session is a 1-week reset for our young heroes, providing ample opportunity for quality family time. This allows our young heroes to reset and return energized and recharged for the next session. Our goal is to maintain an atmosphere of excitement about learning, giving the program more of a camp feel.

We have a full-time coaching staff that will facilitate learning in our studios.

There are volunteer and visiting opportunities for parents, but the primary responsibility of running our classes rests on our highly capable Apogee Longview coaching staff.

What are the Tuition costs?

$8400/year (September through end of June). This amount can be paid up front or equally divided on a 10-month or 12-month payment plan.

We offer the following discounts (these are stackable):

  • LE/Military/First Responder - 5%

  • Pay in full by end of September - 5%

  • Child 2 - 10%

  • Child 3 (and more) - 15%

Do you offer scholarships?

We do have limited scholarships available. After you apply for membership in our tribe and begin your family's audition process, there is a separate scholarship application that we will provide you with.

In the future, as our program grows, we plan on expanding our scholarship and endowment fund. Founding families (our first year families) will have first access to these scholarship opportunities.

Are you hiring?

We are not currently hiring. As enrollments increase, full-time coach and assistant coach positions will open, and we will hire as needed. The ratio of learners to coaches will be about 12:1.

You are welcome to apply to join our team, and we will consider each application as positions become available. Click on the "Join Our Team" tab on our website to learn about and start the application process.
